Super Excited - Modification Day Coming Soon

It's confirmed.

We went to the local garage today here in Kota Kinabalu, which comes highly recommended by one of their long-time and loyal customers - my father-in-law!

The mechanics and sales staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, especially considering that I'm not a local Sabahan and do not speak Malay that well. Not to worry though, as we were able to communicate well enough for us to decide on the modifications.

These will include:

1. 4-2-1 Engine Exhaust System Upgrade

4-2-1 engine exhaust systems for automobiles are designed to ease the flow of exhaust gases of combustion leaving an internal combustion engine, thereby achieving optimal power output. Conventional exhaust systems, like that in my Perodua Alza are outfitted as standard components by automakers, and are typically of the 4-1 type.

2. Resonator (or Centre Box) Upgrade

The exhaust pipes in car exhaust systems are designed as acoustic resonators that work with the muffler (or back box) to reduce noise, by making sound waves "cancel each other out". The "exhaust note" is an important feature for vehicle owners like myself, so both the original manufacturers and the after-market suppliers use the resonator to enhance the sound.

3. Exhaust Muffler (or Silencer) Upgrade
Mufflers or silencers are installed within the exhaust system of most internal combustion engines. The muffler is engineered as an acoustic device to reduce the loudness of the sound pressure created by the engine by acoustic quieting.
